We are currently searching for an experienced, highly-motivated Supervisor for the toddler, infant and preschool program.
The Daycare Supervisor assumes responsibility for the day to day operations of the childcare centre. The Supervisor oversees the program planning, working effectively with staff, working with families and children, connecting with the community, mentoring students and assuming administrative responsibilities related to the day to day operations of the childcare centre.
The Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership in keeping with the philosophy of the program, maintaining standards prescribed by the Child Care and Early Years Act, as well as quality client service.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
Responsible for ensuring that the centre meets all legal requirements, including licensing regulations
Supervise children during the day-to-day operations of the centre ensuring compliance to the various Acts and Regulations such as the Child Care and Early Years Act
Supervises staff, as well as lead, mentor, motivate and train staff
Provides support to staff in developing highest quality curriculum and standards of care
Provide high standards and a safe, healthy and caring environment for the children
Promote a positive atmosphere surrounding team efforts and high standards of customer service
Responsible for updating policies and procedures required by the Ministry, Public Health, Ministry of Education
Provides clear and transparent communications with all levels of the childcare including school staff, ministry, parents, community and other agencies.
Administer monthly staff meetings.
Strong understanding of current theories (including ELECT and emergent curriculum), government legislation (Child Care and Early Years Act, Public Health, Assessment for Quality Improvement, etc) and best-practices in ECE community
Solid understanding of child development
Strong problem solving skills with the ability to analyze and diagnoses the issues
Ability to work in stressful situations with the ability to respond to changes and fluctuating demands with shifting deadlines
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate directions, concepts and information
Experience and understanding of working effectively in a diverse environment
Must be registered and in good standing with the College of ECE. (Registered Early Childhood Educator)
Supervisor or managerial experience
